Four hundred refugees, destitute of everything save the garments they wore when fleeing for life, are suffering from cold and hunger near the ruins of Kami Furano, while relief parties from all parts of the island are hastening to their aid. Financial aid has also been sent from Tokyo and other parts of Japan.??
