Fans flocked to bookstores Wednesday to get their hands on mystery writer Keigo Higashino¡¯s posthumously released final novel, ¡°Eternal Memory.¡±
The acclaimed Japanese author died of colorectal cancer on July 23 at the age of 68, triggering an outpouring of grief from fans and colleagues, with admirers of his work stretching well beyond Japan due to his creativity, characters and elaborate plots.
¡°Eternal Memory¡± is the latest title in his 11-book Detective Galileo series and follows a murder, a deep-set grudge and mysterious relationships. Publisher Bungeishunju described the novel as ¡°Galileo¡¯s final mystery.¡±
