Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi pushed back against criticism she has focused too much on her own political agenda rather than the cost-of-living crisis, touting a raft of price relief measures on social media as her approval ratings slip.

¡°There appears to be a view that the Takaichi administration is neglecting measures to address the rising cost of living affecting the public, and instead prioritizing the pursuit of its own political convictions. That is not how I see it,¡± Takaichi posted on her X on Friday.

¡°The Takaichi administration has made tackling rising prices its top priority,¡± she added.
