Following last week¡¯s Association of Southeast Asian Nations summit in Manila, Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi said Thursday that he had briefly spoken on the sidelines to his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, with the two exchanging greetings and discussing bilateral relations.
Motegi emphasized the significance of the exchange amid a deep freeze in the two countries¡¯ bilateral relations and the need for a thaw, saying it is ¡°extremely important to continue dialogue going forward.¡±
