Boeing lifted production of PAC-3 seekers by 30% last year and plans a similar increase this year as the U.S. tries to replenish its stockpile of the crucial air-defense interceptors.
The company made 650 seekers last year, said Boeing Defense Chief Executive Officer Steve Parker, which matches the number of missiles Lockheed Martin is set to produce in 2026. Boeing aims to build 850 seekers this year.
Thousands of the interceptors were fired by the U.S. and its partners during the Iran war, as Tehran launched ballistic missile strikes around the region. Framework agreements signed this year would see production surge to 2,000 per year by 2030.
