U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping are set to wrap up two days of summit talks in Beijing on Friday, as Trump looks to seal business deals at a meeting that has been overshadowed by Xi¡¯s warning of the possibility of conflict over Taiwan.
Trump is aiming to reach agreements in the aviation, agriculture and artificial intelligence sectors, but has also signaled he hopes to make progress in the geopolitical arena ¡ª including securing a commitment from Beijing to urge Iran to make a deal with the U.S. on ending the war in the Middle Eastern country.?
In an interview with Fox News, Trump also appeared to announce one of the deals, saying that China had agreed to purchase ¡°200 big¡± Boeing jets ¡ª a figure less than had been expected. Earlier, the White House said in a readout that the two sides had discussed ¡°increasing Chinese purchases of American agricultural products.¡±
