Donald Trump arrived in Beijing on Wednesday for a high-stakes summit with Chinese leader Xi Jinping as the U.S. president confronts a China that is far more confident and assertive than the one he visited nearly a decade ago.
Trump, who is being accompanied by a coterie of business leaders including Tesla¡¯s Elon Musk, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and Apple chief Tim Cook, is expected to be locked in on trade issues as he aims to ¡°open up¡± the Asian powerhouse to American firms.?
"I will be asking President Xi, a Leader of extraordinary distinction, to 'open up' China so that these brilliant people can work their magic, and help bring the People's Republic to an even higher level!" Trump wrote on social media after departing Washington.
