Well known for his off-the-cuff remarks, the U.S. president on Thursday stunned Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi during her first visit to the Oval Office as Japan¡¯s leader by invoking Tokyo¡¯s 1941 surprise attack on Pearl Harbor as a parallel to the U.S.-Israeli war against Iran.
Asked by a Japanese reporter why the United States had attacked Iran on Feb. 28 without consulting with allies, Trump appeared to respond with what he thought would be a light-hearted joke.
