A recent online development in Japan, though, suggests a different future for AI and music. The results are less polished, more hyperactive and straight-up gonzo.

A YouTube channel called (stylized in all caps) appeared at the start of May, uploading what it calls ¡°nori-nori¡± (very upbeat) remixes of J-pop songs spanning the past six decades. Whether reworking or , the channel has established a consistent style built around driving beats, stuttering female vocals and EDM touches fit for Ultra Music Festival.
