Edo-Tokyo Museum, the beloved institution that covers 400 years of the city¡¯s history, reopens to the public on March 31 after a four-year closure for major renovations.?

The museum was expected to reopen sometime last year, but was held up by earthquake prevention renovations and?delays in new designs.

Despite the extended closure, visitors shouldn¡¯t expect a huge, flashy reopening; much of the renovations were structural, including additional accessibility, insulation and waterproofing updates to the sloping roof, and a full replacement of the air-conditioning system.
