Netflix's Vice President of Content, Japan, Kaata Sakamoto, last week unveiled the streamer's 2026 slate, which builds on the popularity of its reality series, while mining manga for adaptations and leveraging its relationship with Toho Studios.

Among the projects previewed was footage from ¡°The Human Vapor,¡± based on Toho¡¯s 1960 cult film of the same title. The series is written and executive-produced by Yeon Sang-ho (¡°Train to Busan¡±) and directed by Shinzo Katayama (¡°Gannibal¡±). It follows a string of horrific assassinations carried out by a perpetrator who can vanish into thin air and is billed as ¡°coming soon.¡±

¡°Sins of Kujo,¡± an adaptation of Shohei Manabe¡¯s ¡°Ushijima the Loan Shark¡± manga, premieres April 2. "Light Of My Lion" star Yuya Yagira plays an unconventional lawyer who defends Japan's worst thugs. Hokuto Matsumara co-stars as a fellow lawyer, with supporting roles from Elaiza Ikeda ("Tokyo Swindlers") and Keita Machida ("10Dance").
