Toilet maker Toto will fully resume new orders for prefabricated bathrooms from Tuesday, ending restrictions imposed earlier this year as the Iran war disrupted its supply of naphtha-derived materials.
The company is going back to normal delivery schedules as the supply outlook for raw materials has improved and it has completed upgrades to its ordering system, a spokesperson said by phone.
The move comes amid the government¡¯s repeated attempts to reassure businesses that the country has secured enough naphtha supply despite Middle East-related disruptions, saying it has received no reports of shortages and has increased imports from elsewhere.
Toto had halted orders for prefabricated and modular bathrooms in mid-April, citing a shortage of organic solvents used in wall and ceiling coatings. It partially resumed new orders about a week later.
There are no immediate plans to raise prices, the spokesperson said.
