Toshifumi Suzuki, the former chairman of Seven & I Holdings and pioneer of the convenience store model in Japan, died on May 18 from heart failure, the company announced on Monday. He was 93.
¡°We extend our heartfelt gratitude for the support and goodwill he received throughout his life and career,¡± the statement said.
Suzuki, who is most well known for bringing 7-Eleven stores to Japan, had most recently served as an honorary adviser to the company.
