Space Seed Holdings Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Kengo Suzuki) announces that its subsidiary, Regenesome Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Zentaro Sakuma; hereinafter “Regenesome”) is pleased to announce the commencement of a joint research project with FastNeura Inc. (Headquarters: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director & CEO: Nayuta Mizuguchi; hereinafter “FastNeura”) to evaluate the effects of hypoxic environments on cognitive function through electroencephalography (EEG) signal analysis.

Research Background
Regenesome is a longevity-tech venture with the mission of “solving the challenges of aging through biotechnology.” Recognizing the limitations of conventional single-target therapies, the company promotes multi-domain interventions that combine diet, exercise, and medical care, and aims to make their effects measurable.

Operating from its headquarters and research facility, the “Takanawa Longevity Lab,” located within TAKANAWA GATEWAY Link Scholars’ Hub (LiSH) at Takanawa Gateway, Regenesome has been advancing multifaceted research and development¡ªincluding mitochondrial activation through hypoxic environments¡ªin collaboration with Tohoku University. This research aims to scientifically verify the effects of hypoxic environments on brain cognitive function using the objective method of EEG measurement.

About FastNeura
FastNeura is a biodata ¡Á AI startup originating from the University of Tokyo Faculty of Medicine. With the goal of realizing cognitive augmentation technology that works on the human unconscious, the company develops and provides “Sync,” a neuro-adaptive AI platform that combines multimodal biodata analysis technology with closed-loop intervention technology. The team consists of AI engineers from neuroscience laboratories, bringing deep expertise in non-invasive EEG measurement and cutting-edge AI development.

Research Overview
In this study, leveraging FastNeura’s specialized technology, subjects perform cognitive tasks (N-back tasks) under three conditions¡ªbefore, during, and after exposure to a hypoxic environment¡ªand analysis of EEG signal variations and changes in task accuracy has been initiated.

Measurement Equipment
Device Used: OpenBCI Cyton Board

This device is an 8-channel board for EEG/EMG/ECG measurement that connects to a PC via Bluetooth. By attaching Kendall EMG/ECG Foam Solid Gel Electrodes (adhesive silver/silver chloride electrodes), brain waves from the frontal and temporal regions can be measured.

Future Outlook
Through this research, Regenesome aims to scientifically demonstrate the effects of hypoxic environments on brain function and apply the findings to office wellness and cognitive enhancement programs. Furthermore, by combining these results with Regenesome’s nanoparticle technology (Vicell) for intranasal and oral supplement delivery to the brain, as well as epigenetic clock-based biological age measurement, the company will accelerate the development of a personalized multi-domain intervention platform.

By integrating FastNeura’s EEG measurement and AI analysis technology with Regenesome’s hypoxic environment technology and longevity research infrastructure, both companies will drive the societal implementation of next-generation, evidence-based brain function regeneration solutions.
