Space Seed Holdings Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Dr. Kengo Suzuki) announced the launch of a joint demonstration study in collaboration with its core group company, Regenesome Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Zentaro Sakuma; hereinafter ¡°Regenesome¡±), and Assistant Professor Taku Nakai of the Department of Oxygen Medicine, Graduate School of Medicine, Tohoku University. The study aims to evaluate the effects of hypoxic environments on blood glucose levels and biological aging.

To mark the start of this initiative, the kickoff event titled ¡°Hypoxic Wellness ¡ª Demonstration Study Kickoff Event¡± was held on Monday, October 6, 2025, at LiSH (TAKANAWA GATEWAY Link Scholars¡¯ Hub), located on the 6th and 7th floors of THE LINKPILLAR 1 NORTH.

Program Highlights
– Overview of the TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY Startup Ecosystem and LiSH Presented by Mr. Kohei Miyajima, East Japan Railway Company (JR East)
– Company Introduction of Regenesome Presented by Mr. Zentaro Sakuma, President & CEO, Regenesome Inc.
– Scientific Explanation of the Demonstration Study Presented by Assistant Professor Taku Nakai, Department of Oxygen Medicine, Graduate School of Medicine, Tohoku University
– Business Vision for Hypoxia-Based Aging-Related Services Presented by Dr. Kengo Suzuki, Representative Director & CEO, Regenesome Inc.
– Introduction to the ¡°Epigenetic Clock¡± Using DNA Methylation Data Presented by Dr. Daigo Okada, Project Assistant Professor, Department of Regenerative Functional Medicine, Graduate School of Medicine, Gifu University
– Networking Session at LiSH

Researchers, investors, and other stakeholders attended the event, where a dedicated hypoxic space was constructed to allow participants to experience a low-oxygen environment firsthand. Through demonstrations such as real-time blood glucose measurements, attendees gained partial insight into the physiological effects of hypoxia and deepened their understanding of its potential applications.

With the support of LiSH, an exhibition area replicating a hypoxic environment equivalent to an altitude of approximately 3,000 meters was installed at the venue. Live demonstrations were conducted to measure changes in participants¡¯ blood glucose levels in real time under hypoxic conditions.

Objectives of the Demonstration Study
The study targets 20 adult employees working at LiSH, who will undergo hypoxic exposure for 1 hour per day, 3¨C5 days per week, over a 4-week period. Participants will continue their regular work activities during exposure, while the following parameters will be measured:
– Blood glucose levels
– Blood pressure
– DNA methylation status in saliva samples

Regenesome aims to scientifically validate the effects of hypoxic environments on glycemic control and aging suppression. The results are expected to contribute to the development of future wellness technologies as well as research in space medicine.

Representative Comment: Dr. Kengo Suzuki Representative Director, Space Seed Holdings Co., Ltd.
¡°This demonstration explores the potential to address health challenges on Earth. As a first step toward the social implementation of science, we designed a system in which people can experience hypoxic environments while continuing to work. Our immediate goal is to integrate future wellness seamlessly into everyday life.¡±

Future Outlook
Using the demonstration data to be collected from 2025 onward, Regenesome plans to develop new wellness products and healthcare programs based on hypoxic adaptation. Together with stakeholders including its parent company, Space Seed Holdings, Regenesome will form a longevity ecosystem aimed at the application of terrestrial science and technology to space environments. The company will further expand collaborations with universities, research institutions, and corporations both in Japan and internationally.

About Regenesome Inc.
Regenesome Inc. aims to provide novel solutions for aging suppression and regenerative medicine by utilizing nanoparticles such as exosomes. In May 2025, the company established its headquarters and research facility, the Takanawa Longevity Lab, within LiSH to accelerate business and R&D activities. Looking ahead, Regenesome seeks to develop advanced medical technologies and innovative solutions in space medicine, contributing to the extension of healthy lifespan and the future expansion of humanity into space.
